This detective novel starts with the rape and murder of a socialite, Andrea Douglas–Brown, daughter of a high-powered member of the Establishment. DCI Erika Foster is assigned the case, recently arrived from Manchester after a horrific case-gone-wrong. As the murderer tries to cover his tracks, bodies accumulate and DCI Foster is side-lined. She does not give up.
Engaging and well-written, characterisation is good and it flows nicely. I felt that the dénouement was a bit rushed but otherwise this is worth a read.
