Emotionally charged with lots of character development

A Boy Made of Blocks - Keith Stuart

Using the author's experience with one of his own children, this novel is about Alex who has had difficulties dealing with his autistic son, Sam, leading to marital breakdown, compounded by redundancy. The video game, Minecraft, helps both father and son to bond and to solve their communication issues.

Sometimes emotionally charged with lots of character development, the novel works well, including various sub-plots involving friends and family. Well worth a read if the problems of autism interest you.
