Not having read Volumes 1-5, this was a bit of a mystery at first. However a quick synopsis at the beginning sort of brings you up-to-date.

This centres around the revival of the dead, the cause of which is still relatively unknown. Various characters around Marathon City are involved in a manhunt for Blaine Abel who knows more than most people about this phenomenon: however he is in hiding with survivalists. Ghosts “haunt” the revivers and the normal humans try to work out how all this works.

Good characterisation, particularly of the Cypress family, and illustrations of a high standard make this a compelling tale. Although I’m coming in only on Volume 6, I shall try to read the previous ones. Recommended.
