Old-fashioned historical adventure romp
This comic collection tells the story of Delilah Dirk, an adventuress in Portugal during the Napoleonic Wars, defending herself against trumped-up charges of espionage. She then travels home to England to confront her accuser and right wrongs with a lot of action.
This is told very much in the French “bande dessinée” tradition although the illustrations are not always clear during fighting scenes. A lot of fun and engaging.
