By pure coincidence, I started reading this mystery novel about murders in the BDSM community in Southampton at the same time as I started the Sunstone graphic novels, also set in that world. Admittedly they deal with totally different aspects of this environment, one I know nothing about. I presume that they are both quite faithful to this community.

This novel deals with Helen Grace, a Detective Inspector, investigating the murder of a Dom in a BDSM club. Unfortunately for her, he also was her Dom in the past. The murders escalate and she leads the investigation with devastating results. It also helps if you’ve read some of the previous Helen Grace books – which I hadn’t.

Quite engaging and well-written, it is worth a look but my Kindle preview edition is hard to follow as the scene changes from one line to the next without a paragraph break.
