This novel aimed at a Young Adult readership deals with a world in which all adults and young children have been wiped out by a mysterious illness. Only adolescents remain and this novel tells us about the plight of a small group based in Washington Square in New York. Jefferson and Donna swap chapters all the way through the book, telling us about their own relationship problems as they struggle to survive and perhaps find a solution.
Characters are well-depicted and the writing is an easy read. Engaging enough, this is the first part of a trilogy and although reasonably well-written, I'm not sure that I'm interested enough to see how the plot progresses.
